An MPGT code consists of four blocks of binary numbers, corresponding to the four multiplexes used in this identification scheme (M1-M2-M3-M4). Each digit corresponds to a gene in these multiplxes, sorted in descending size of expected amplicon. A successful PCR product is indicated by digit "1", a failure to amplify by a "0"(except for the internal control, Salmonella specific gene STM1608, not included in the code).
